The first fully integrated buttons, completely and seamlessly manufactured as an integral part of the aligner.
No in-office bonding or debonding required. Virtually eliminates emergency visits due to button failures or aligner deformation, streamlining the entire treatment workflow.
Enables complex, multidirectional elastic vectors on labial, lingual, and interproximal surfaces without interfering with ideal tooth attachment placement.
Exceptional Strength & Durability
Engineered as an integral part of the aligner, FXIntegrated Buttons resist breakage and deformation more effectively than traditional bonded solutions. They are designed to withstand up to 10 lbs of force.

Smooth, seamless design with no added bulk, rough edges, or visible bonded elements. This may result in greater comfort and easier elastic application, with patients reporting higher overall satisfaction.*
Unlike traditional bonded buttons or existing "integrated" alternatives, FXIntegrated Buttons are formed as one continuous piece directly from the same proprietary polymer as the aligner. This eliminates adhesives, ultrasonic welding, and precision cuts or slits commonly used in other aligner anchoring systems that could compromise physical integrity.
When will FXIntegrated Buttons be available?
Debuting at the 2026 American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session, OrthoFX introduces FXIntegrated Buttons, which will be available for all OrthoFX aligner products early Summer 2026.
What size are the buttons?
FXIntegrated Buttons are designed to optimize effectiveness and patient comfort: 3mm diameter, 2mm profile.
What is the elastics wear protocol with integrated buttons?
Standard elastic wear protocols apply, typically 20-22 hours per day.
How is the OrthoFX button different from other aligner buttons?
FXIntegrated Buttons are unique in that they are manufactured directly into the aligner during production—not bonded or welded afterward—resulting in greater durability and reducing the need for emergency rebonding appointments.
Can buttons break off like those used in other aligner systems?
Strength testing has shown that OrthoFX Integrated Buttons can withstand forces significantly greater than those generated by regular or heavy elastics. They are designed to withstand up to 10 lbs of force — approximately 20 times the force of typical extra-heavy elastics (≈ 0.5 lbs / 8 oz).
